Our journey

Our journey over the past 20 years has been filled with small but pivotal steps, each bringing us closer to our goal of continually improving and providing you, our customer, with an exceptional experience. From a small workshop to a fully-fledged specialty store, and from one ski instructor to a team of 20 passionate coaches. Our love for the mountains has taken us from “Hyrskidan” to today’s Åre Sportshop. We know skiing—and so much more. Step inside and become part of our story!

  • 2004

     

    Our story begins in an old workshop with a few skis, a grinding machine, and four guys with a passion for skiing and countless days on the slopes, all with the goal of renting out high-quality skis to Åre’s visitors.

  • 2006

     

    Daniel joined us, allowing us to fully focus on our goal: delivering your perfect ski day. This marked the beginning of something bigger, where quality and experience are at the heart of everything we do.

  • 2007

     

    Our move to the gas station. We dreamed big even back in the workshop, but when we got the opportunity to take over the old gas station in Undersåker, we finally took a major step toward realizing those dreams. The new location gave us the space to expand our operations, with the ski workshop continuing as the heart of high-quality service and equipment. But we didn’t stop at just being a ski rental—we wanted to create a first class store that would offer our customers something special.

  • 2017

     
    Daniel, being an experienced ski coach launched our own ski coaching service, focusing on highly trained and experienced ski coaches who focus on creating an unbelievable experience on the mountains.

  • 2022

     

    The expansion of our store is finally complete! We’ve now built a true specialty store for our customers, and those of us working here are thrilled to have a large inventory at our disposal.
